Need help on mysql!

Hi there,
I am an intermaediate web designer and have just ventured into the very confusing world of making databases for my site.
Needless to say, I am completely overcome by the many options and languages that are available and have no clue whatsoever of how to go about making a database for my site.
My database was compiled using excel and my web host supports only mysql for the database server, I know that I need to install ODBC drivers in order to get excel to be able to talk to mysql but my problem is, is that I haven't the faintest idea on how or where to start.
I need to know from start to finish from getting excel to talk to mysql, designing the database into my website and how to go about uploading the database. I know that it's too much to ask but I guess I'm desparate, I hope there is someone out there who can spare a bit of their time to help me out.
It's worth a shot for me I guess.

You need first to find a tutorial about mysql. There must be a blue million of them out there. Then you'll need to export your data from Excel as some sort of delimited file and slurp it into mysql. There's not really a way to help somebody with no experience at all but to suggest that they look for a tutorial. Once you've read such a tutorial and have some specific questions, you're more likely to get a more helpful response here.
