Newbie in Crisis
Hi All,
I am running on a mac 10.3.4 with Mysql 4.0.20 and I have installed and re-installed several times already. I have tried to follow the instructions from entropy, URL, and the read me that comes with the package download. I cannot seem to get a /var directory to install so I am either getting the can't find mysql.socket message or the following: Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/mysql/data 040723 23:24:55 mysqld ended I have already spent 2 days on this so my brain is completely fried. Most info I find is for 10.2 and I have a weird feeling that with the new terminal shell on 10.3 it has to be handled differently. Any help or steering in the right direction would be an enormous help Regards Rose |

The saga continues
Trying some tips from mysql.com and get the following:
g4:~ rosemarielanaro$ mysqladmin -h g4.local version mysqladmin: connect to server at 'g4.local' failed error: 'Lost connection to MySQL server during query' g4:~ rosemarielanaro$ This was part of an attempt to check the connection to the server (my local drive) Thanks Rose |
