php script mysql_fetch_row error

I made mysql_fetch_row script and once i tested it it said "Could not query: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1"

my code is:

    while ($row = mysql_fetch_row($result)) {

        echo "$row[0]";

    }

    mysql_free_result($result);

    mysql_close($link);

?>

what is the problem and how can i fix it?

In the following line, is localhost, user, and password defined as constants? Otherwise, why are these not quoted?

same here:

I think the main problem is with your sql

may work as
