Selecting partial column information???
I am new here. I apologize if what i ask is common knowledge somewhere. I have tried to do my homework and find the answers on my own but im a bit stumped. Im working on importing a database from excel to Mysql. I have the list imported as into mysql but i need to separate the data into different columns. Its a list of experiments but for the data processing and graphing i hope to with the data later i need to seperate information in certain columns. The sample column looks like this
"N2 (15) @ 30 min."
i would very much like to be able to copy a portion of this data at a time such as that inside the parentheses and write it to another column. I have found out how to copy entire columns somewhat but is there any way to do this. I wont ask for everything but if anyone could give me a hint, give me a tutorial that answers this question, or at least tell me what words to use when doing searches i would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.
