Access problems on local network
I want to set up my desktop running Win XP Pro as a web server on my home network and use my laptop
running Win XP Home with Visual studio .NET to create/edit asp.net applications.
I have set up a share on a subdirectory within Inetpub/wwwroot in explorer but when I try to map to this network drive from my laptop PC i get an error "access denied, you might not have permission to use this network rescource, contact the administrator to find out if you have access permissions".
I have checked the folder permissions in Explorer and they are set the the share to Everyone with full control.
All the folders under Inetpub are inaccessable to my laptop.
How do I access this folder through my laptop?
I'm guessing these folders are unshared by default for security. Can this pose a security risk?
If so is there a way of doing this? I want to keep the server secure and make it accessable only to the internal network.
