all i want is a clean, simple executable

is there a way to simply create an executable file,
i've been playing around with the deployment projects
but i don't seem to be getting anywhere.

i have a startup module, a splash screen form, and my application
form all created using visual basic.net.
it's been about two years since i've VB'd (to create a new verb),
any insight is appreciated.
