datagrid help required

hello frds...need ur help !!!

i created a master detail grid(asp.net/vb.net) where i page
8 records each time . the grid navigates to the other pages too
but the problem is when i click the job id link the details that will
be displayed in details grid executes properly in the first
page but when i click the links of next pages too only the first
8 records details get displayed.....

the rowctr get back to 0 again during each page change.and
hence the first 8 records in database r displayed.

pls help me out...coz i am tired looking out for help.

any kindhearted brain listening????
