File Download

Is it possible to download a file fron server to client side without poping up the save as dialogue box

That's called uploading. And no, it's not possible, as there are a tonne of security issues. Would you like someone to upload a virus to your computer, without you knowing?

Not as far as I know, I belive to do that you have to have them download and run a client side application or maybe a directx that manages the download.

No - again, this is a security issue. The only way you could around this is by writing some sort of ActiveX component.

ACTUALY. it is easily possible, u can download files or anything without the pop up box, like when i login at college it donwloads hideit and msn and things for me.hehe

I want to do the same thing but with Visual Studio 2008. I've tried to convert the code in the following example, but I have no idea how to do that.
