Installation troubles

Hi all, i'm having some troubles installing .net and making it work.

I downloaded and installed the .NET 1.1 Framework and the SDK, everything ran fine. I then downloaded and installed the SQL package, MSDE, as I will need that also.

C:\dotnet\v1.1
C:\dotnet\msde

Restarted my computer, of course.

First off, doesn't the SDK come with an IDE? I can't find it. Also, when I type csc helloworld.cs in the command prompt, it says csc is an unrecognized command.

I read something about having to have IIS installed also, and that it should be installed before the .NET framework. I looked around and didn't see it, and under control panel -> windows components, it is not listed. I'm running XP Home Edition, btw.

Also, my computer does not recognize .aspx files. I assume this is because of the IIS issue.

Any help is much appreciated.

Oh, and, I have already installed apache a long time ago for my PHP development, so http://localhost/ already points to c:\web\xampp\htdocs, if that matters.

Thanks!

Alright ignore my above post, he is the situation now:

Since I found out IIS won't run on Windows XP Home Edition, I downloaded Cassini. I have downloaded and installed .NET 1.1 framework and .NET 1.1 SDK. I have also downloaded and installed MSDE, as I will want to use a database.

Now, here are the current problems. First off, doesn't the SDK come with an IDE? If so, I can't find it. Also, the csc command won't work; when I type csc filename.cs in the command prompt, it says csc is an unrecognized command.

Ultimately I want to develope standalone C# apps, and aspx webpages (locally). I have Apache + PHP installed, so http://localhost points to c:\web\xampp\htdocs, how is this going to fit in with making my computer run aspx pages like a webserver would?

Thanks for any help
