.Net Framework SDK Installation Problem

Hi,

I am trying to install .Net Framework SDK in my home computer. My OS is Windows XP. I have downloaded .Net Framework SDK and .Net Framework 1.1 Redistributale from Microsoft download site. I could able to install .Net Framework 1.1 Redistributal with out any problem. When i try to install the .Net Framework SDK. It says that you have to uninstall the beta version of .Net Framework 1.1. To my knowledge there is no beta version of .Net Framework 1.1 is installed in my comp.I am just breaking my head to solve this problem without succuss. If any body faced similar problem got solution please share with me. It will be very greatful.

I believe the SDK Includes the redistributable and hence you just need to install SDK.

Im not sure but try that..uninstall redist and install SDK by itself

I have tried that way also ie I have Uninstalled the Redistributale version and tried to install the SDK, it says since .Net Framework 1.1 is not install SDK hence cannot install and it tries to install only the documentation of the SDK.

hmm that is weird. Have you ever installed .NET beta before ?

Yes sometime back i have installed the .Net Framework SDK and it was not working properly. I have uninstalled it. Done as per the advice from the microsoft site. ie It has adviced to install the redistributale first before the SDK. I was trying the same and i am encountering the above problems now.

1.1 beta sometimes did not uninstall correctly, so you get some registry keys that stuck around that shouldn't have, and they need to be deleted.

Delete these if they exist (the first 2 might not, but the 3rd always does in this instance)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramewor k
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\{C9913503-1500-4454-94CD-365ADC1BB9B9}


Once you've done that you can install the new version.
