COM for PHP Question

My goal is to traverse over an ASP / IIS / COM filled / NT Based web site, into a PHP / Apache / COM (unchanged) / Linux based environment.

1) How difficult is moving these COM models over to Apache under Linux? Do these components need to be redesigned? Also, can PHP already speak with these components?

2) I read in a previous article, that COM is written using OLE32.DLL on Windows NT and is directly tied to the OS it's running under. If I were to make these changes, would I need to completely redesign these COMs under Linux or can I link them? How would I do so?

appreciate the response time!
