delay when updating

hi guys,

my question might not be related to php..but i really hope u guys can give me an idea what is actually the problem i am having now..

when i uploaded a new dynamic page on the server, i can't actually see the changes when i load the page via browser.. but when i asked my other friend from another place (a bit far from my office location), they able to see the changes,.

besides of that, sometimes even when i deleted some files from the hosting, i still able to view the page from my browser (i have clear the cache folder).. it suppose to show page not found right ?? it is kinda weird for me... and this makes me not able to test my code now..

could u guys give me an idea how to solve this delay of changes from my side problem ??? is it due to the ISP or what ??

please advise.

I have seen this happen before because you are looking at a domain that is pointed somewhere else inside a given building but otherwise pointed to a set ip address in the outside world.

I'm not saying that this is definitely the problem here but it could be. Have a look to see if anything is set up that could be pointing you to a different copy or caching it somewhere other than the browser.

Hope this helps,

Have you tried it from a different web browser? If so, you need to recheck your cache settings. Sometimes the best way to clear the cache is to reset the size to 1MB and I usually check the radio field that makes IE check for new pages on each request. That is up to you though.

If you try it on different browser and you still see the same content, you might be behind a proxy. Proxies are normally configured to save content.
