installation of php from suse cd

when i try to open in my webbrowser a file with a ".php" extension i get a dialog box asking me to choose the application with which to open the file.when i choose a webbrowser it opens with some thing like
file:/home/wasepc/.kde/share/apps/kfmexec/tmp/3869.0.index.php
which i do not want how do i solve this. wat component have i missed out.
