Javascripst & PHP Menu (Help pleaseeee)!!!

I want make menu with sub-menu. So I read article on :Creating an IE-Only Database Driven Menu System With PHP, MySQL and DHTML and that nice article.

But I want to make sub-menu close first! so the menu which display on the site is a parent menu! and when parent menu is clicked the sub-menu is open.

On that article, parent menu and sub menu will display first and when parent menu was clicked the sub-menu is closed.

Please tell me how to modify that scripts!!
