1. get a host that supports php and mysql.
2. get a forum. there are many to choose from. http://www.openbb.net/ http://www.phpbb.net/ http://www.xmbforum.com/ http://www.vbulletin.com/ - the best but costs money. 3. read the instructions. 4. read the instructions. 5. follow the instructions. |

Setting up forum from scratch
Hi all,
I want to set up a forum on my website but I don't want to subscribe/use any forum supports that are provided by my web host. I wrote my own php script to manage forum (handling posts, replies, updates post, managing databases etc) but it is not perfect and lack of many functions like many famous web-sites forums have. Do you guys know where can I find php source code regarding on handling a forum? (articles, howtos, tutorials or whatever). I'm still newbie to this php and web programming and need your help. Thanks for your help. ![]() |
