setting cookie without using php

Hi guys,

I am wondering is there anyway i can set cookie without using php ? I mean i wanna remain my html file ?

please advise.

p.s: can javascript do this ?

Yes - you can set cookies using JS.

http://www.webreference.com/js/column8/property.html has s simple example
