They release patched packages for all their products on a timely manner. So, there may be 2, 3, 4 different versions of the same software - but the latest version will be the most up to date version with fixes. Make sure that your registration info is correct with correct email address and they will notify you of any changes in the package. You can email tech support with your problem and they will tell you if it has been fixed in another package.

They have released standalone patches in the past, but I think they have gotten out of that habit....

It simply rocks!

I've always had an urge to try it. Unfortunately, there's no PC version available (at least from what I understand)...

I agree with jsilve1. I use VIM 90% of the time, doing most of my development on the command line of my remote servers. It's got lots of great time saving features that I really miss when I'm using MSwindows based editors. Yep, sure it comes with a steep learning curve, but it's so worth it once you get past the few basic hurdles and start to learn it's powerful features.

When I do have to edit something on my windows box, I use NoteTab, a great ASCII text editor.

I have been using AceHTML for a long time now and I think that it is a great one. The new version 5 does a whole lot and it was just released as freeware. Check it out at URL

Smile PHP Editors

PHPEdit has worked very well for me. Oh, it does have a couple of quirks that keeps me on my toes, but nothing insurmountable, especially because it's free.
I did read all of the posts here, and I noticed that there was only one mention, and I was wondering if it was because lack of exposure, or if it had been looked at and dismissed.

1st Page 2000 is pretty good all round editor, though a bit shy of php stuff.

For Linux though:

Quanta is great. Though i have a few problems with its stability. And Bluefish is good as well but again a bit short on some php stuff at the moment.

PHP MAster Editor is bu far the best editor and compile tool in combination with Dreamweaver MX i think that are a nice solution for small projects.

Zend studio personal edition is a bit slow but very good debuggin tool in addition to the both above.
