Can't run a .mdb file renamed to .asp
I have tried this earlier (and also today) to rename my Access Database from mydatabase.mdb to mydatabase.asp. It run's without problem locally on my computer (XP Pro), but when I upload it to the server (Windows 2000) I get an 500 Internal Server Error.
In the article this possibility was called a "bug"? Is it anything my ISP can do to make it possible to run a renamed .mdb file? EiSa |

Ok, this is what happens. I convert an Access Database to a asp file as described. (From mydatabase.mdb to mydatabase.asp). It runs without problem locally on my computer.
When I ftp mydatabase.asp to the server the file becomes empty (0 Kb). Any idea why this happens? I'm using Macromedia MX. I have fixed it by renaming the .mdb file directly on the server, but I'm still wondering why I'm not able to ftp the file. Forget it, I will answer this myself: When you upload an ASP page, it uploads in ASCII and when you upload a program, picutre ect, it uploads in binary. If you upload your mdb as an asp page, it will upload it in ascii rendering it immediately corrupted. EiSa Last edited by EiSa : April 5th, 2003 at 04:00 AM. |
