"The idea of hacking in the dark starts most script kiddies, and before too long they're learning advanced C/C++..."

Just out of curiousity, what exactly is "advanced C/C++"? Anyhow, I would think that the prospect of a youth benefitting themselves and their futures in learning a language would be pleasing, not frightening.

I mean, instead of frying their brains and screwing cheerleaders, you have a community of individuals who are at least interested in a higher pursuit than the normal, baseless, aims of high school students. While I cannot condone cyberviolence towards innocents (I myself run a site that's been attacked many times), at least these children have, as you yourself stated, embarked on a path of computer education. I have no qualms with complaining about the damages, but personal attacks on their character seem a bit less than professional; if attention were focused on developing their interests in more productive directions rather than descrying them as "social misfits", I think you'd find in them a profitable resource. Personally, I believe that if these kids worked towards goals that they felt were productive, they wouldn't feel the need to exercise their frustrated lives against others. (honestly, I don't know how all that would work out; it'd be nice, though)

*shrug* just my two cents, although I'll most likely be branded as a sympathizer (which I am, perhaps, at least with their "misfit" situation).

Ive been designing and producing web pages for the last 6 years (yes, hard to belive), from when i 13yrs. Now what you say has some valid points, but i must say that during the last 6 years, i have been exanding my knowledge of computers and the net. Not once, have i even thought of hacking into someones computer, if 'kiddies' want to expand there knowledge of the computer industry, there are plently of ways to go about it in a legal way.

Hacking is a very serious matter, and if these kiddies arent stopped, they soon become professional hackers, trying to get though your firewall, and belive me, ive seen people hacked who have firewalls

It's sad that they actually think they're skilled because they're running for example an exploit *someone else* made..

Basically, they know how to execute a program

hack ppls computer for money.

organisations usually hire them to test their security. their job is to hack their own system. When they do they fix the system so that they can't hack it nemore..

Hackers can have respect, however script kiddies do not.

All they would need to do is download a program to plant a trojan or the like into a select file & send it to someone.

Hackers really do advanced stuff which I don't really know. Like steal moeny from banks.
