aspx on non-windows web servers

Enjoyed the article on "Latest" Developments in the .Net World. Moving forward, does anyone know if there are plans to enable hosting of aspx pages on non-windows web servers (i.e. Apache on Linux, WN on Unix, etc.)

yes alot of linux hosts allow asp to be ran off it, by using the mod_perl module.

currently i believe .net is still in the beta stages, so i doubt many hosts other than ms support the .net frame just yet.

.NET has been at version 1.1 for at least a year. Windows 2003 comes with .NET built in.

Miguel de Icaza (Ximian head) of GNOME fame started the MONO project (.NET for linux) about two years ago, though it currently (last i heard) only consists of the C# language, a CLI and a few class libraries. Because C# has been implemented, you should be able to get ASP.NET (*.aspx files) running... in theory.
