Does anyone know how to convert an AVI file into MPEG in adobe premiere?

Only the latest version of Premiere can handle this - all previous versions were not equipped. You should be able to 'Save As' an MPEG file, and the source AVI will be converted.

Because I want to copy a file I have into a DVD disc and since the file is AVI It does not get copied it says I need to convert it into this tipe of file first. So... do u know how to do it?

Wrong 100% wrong.. there is free software out there to do this called tmpegenc ... it will take avi and convert it to mpg..
