Angry Dreamweaver MX not responding

Hi There,

I need some advise, please - I have recently upgraded my Macromedia web design studio package, which I bought a few years ago. I successfully upgraded to Macromedia studio MX (Flash MX, Dreaweaver MX, Fireworks MX, Freehand MX).

However, I still have the old software versions residing on
my c:/ drive. I would thought the upgrade would have used the exsisiting applications and overwritten it - but no. Now I have Flash 4 (old version) and the new FLASH MX install on my hard drive. The same with the other applications (versions), it seem like I have double applications.

Question 1: - Is it safe to uninstall the old versions of Macromedia products and if doing so, will the new MX series still work correctly? I really don't want to have old Macromedia
products installed on my PC if I can avoid it, after all it takes up space on my hard drive.

Question 2: - When accessing my Dreamweaver MX application it does not seem to respond. It is extremely slow and screen windows are not showing all features. When executing a Ctrl+Alt+Delete command, I can see that the program is not responding. The other applications, Flash MX, Fireworks MX and Freehand MX, are all working okay.

I am running Windows Me, 40GB Hard drive with nearly 35GB left. Also, 350MB Ram and a 800Mhz processor.

Any advise to how I can regtify this? I have tried to email Macromedia, but no response to my correspondence

Please advise and thanks in advance.

HEnry

Firstly, it is quite safe to delete the old versions of the products.

Your dreamweaver problem is due to your pc. Dreamweaver MX, will sux the life out of any computer, and is a strain on resources. Make sure that your running as little as possible when using MX
