error opening IMAP stream with PHP
i get the error below when i try to connect with imap
Warning: Couldn't open stream {localhost:110}INBOX
Could not open Mailbox - try again later!
my PHP version is 4.0.6 and it is installed on Red hat linux 7.2
pls sombody help.it is very urgent....
imap c-client library 2000 is also installed i have checked it in the phpinfo()
i also find some difficulties in sending mail.it works with the windows system but in linux it gives a sent message but the message is not being sent....
is the version of php a problem? 
i am confused.in the windows system the version of PHP is 4.3.0
