Firebird

I do not understand why the Firebird database is not used for these tests. It has everything that Postgres has (foreign keys, stored procedures, views, etc.) with speed similar to MySQL. Plus, it's 100% free like Postgres; unlike MySQL, and it has a 15 year history of being rock solid since it is the code from Interbase.

Firebird

MySQL is not free at all times. There are circumstances where you have to pay a $395 license fee. Example is if you embed it in you app and sell your app.
