Anyone have suggestions for killer titles in relation to "general programming books" I need to get a handled on OOP and like the idea taking a non-language oriented approach.

I think the book you should be looking for are
design pattern books these books tells u about different object oriented designs available, and when u can use them. This is common across all OO languages. MSDN also has some articles about design patterns. but their articles are more related to their VB, C++ and .NET languages Java books have alot of oo design topics as Sun strongly enforces the use of design pattern in applications hope thishelps

Try searching on Amazon.com for
Programming design pattern or something like that Once you have the basic ideas about programing, you can easily learn a new programing language within a day And Welcome to the forums Regards Ben Rowe |
