ROFLMAO - a dvd ****!

Nah, there is no need to copy it to a DVD disk, just slam the .avi on CD-R and have them view it using DivX, simple as that

DVDs require that the video be in MPEG2 format. You need to compress and encode the video into an MPEG2 (with Premiere, Vegas, etc.), and then use a DVD authoring program like DVDit, DVD Workshop or Scenerist (many of these programs will create the MPEG2 file as well) to create and author the DVD. Of course, you need a DVD burner as well.

I think some Macs can do this on the fly without all of the third-party video editing software (iMovie?), but I'm not sure.

DVD recording hardware is extremely expensive at the moment because not many people own one of those bad boys (me included)

Internal DVD burners are only $AUD 500 (170 pounds) - that's pretty damn cheap if u ask me... esp compared to their price 18 months ago. Problem is 'Blue Ray' DVD (or whatever the hell they're going to be called) is due out shortly (3-6 months) which are slated to hold 30GB.
