maybe this is not the place to ask this question, but i hope somebody can help me.
suppose : i have a network with two windows 98 pc's. i'll call them A and B. i networked them with a crossover cable - without a hub or router. pc A has an internet connection. and i want to share that connection with B with ICS. question : does pc A have to be 'on' (don't know how you say that in english, 'booted'?) to allow B to go on the internet? thanx |

Hi, If the network are ok. You can share internet with a proxy (see analogx.com) and yes the computers need to be on to use.

thanx.
and without the internet, just the network : if B wants to read a file from a shared folder of A, does A have to be 'on'? |
