i would like to create a new partition within XP Pro so that i can do a ghost image on the same drive.
but when i enter computer management console and right click on the single partition i already have (basic, healthy) there is no option for NEW partition and i therefore cannot start the new partition wizard. ![]() |

How to partition in Windows XP
you can use the Disk Mangement tool to create a new partition. You can only do this if you already have multiple partitions on your hard drive (you must have administrator's rights to do this). 1. Open the Administrative Tools control panel. 2. Open Computer Management. 3. Expand Computer Management, then expand Storage. 4. Open Disk Management Alternatively, have you tried third party software? Personally, I've used Partition Magic in the past. |

Oh, well i am the administrator, but i only have one partition, so i guess it is not possible.
however i noticed on another bb that the windows disk managment software has a problem seeing partition created by partition magic. however it sounds like the best option ta (as we say in the uk) |

Me Neither
The point is, I DO NOT have the option to create the partition in the disk menagement, even if i log in as an administrator. Partition Magic 8 can't do it either. What do I do?
