Yes it does

Exchange does indeed store the size of each mail a person gets. My application has to retrieve this information (seperate incomming from outgoing mail) from exchange and store it in an SQL database. This alows us to make a nice rapport at the end of the month showing each user how much he has to pay for the mails he got / send.

I don't believe exchange has an option to store propperties in another DB

Exchenge 2003 programming

Hi - I have programmed many small hooks for exchange and exchange 2003 - an easy way to complete your task is to hook the email details on arrival at the SMTP server and log directly to an sql server.
One example that i have written was to reply to an email with results from a database using the subject line as part of the query - this allowed our blackberry users to query the customer database whilst on the move with no human intervention..

Hi shivan,

can i kindly request you to let me in on how to connect a SQL server db to the exchange server.

my project is about checking a new email in a particular inbox of a user account, if it is a valid format then i have to save the email as a text file and saving the attachments as well and writing the results into a sql server.

if you could atleast let me know some books to refer that would be great.

thanks a lot in advance.
