Software Costing
Hi,
Hope some one will enlighten me with this issue ... HOW DOES WE DO THE COSTING FOR SOFTWARE PROJECTS, esp a web based systemwith database. the work include, db design, coding, testing, installation and maintanance. thanks

software project cost = your service cost + info tech cost (soft and hardware)
your service cost should be decided systemetically, eg. hours worked x certain amount, OR you might price each module of the project based on how much effort is required in producing them. Its not a good thing that you ask this now. Because you should already have an estimated cost from your client and adjust your project to that cost not your cost to your client's ..if u know what i mean

thanks, i did realize the method of budgeting a software, but really not sure abt it, furthermore i did couple of work for my clients, and its simply in bulk quatations, simple put a price based on the 'smatness' of the program
anyhow thanks. ... |

I do web developement myself for a few years now, so i work pretty quickly. I also do a professional job, and usually (sometimes more) i charge about $60-$80US an hour, however this is professional work. If your only starting off, you could get around $20 an hour, untill you build a good repretation
