Upgrading from Win ME to XP Pro...can be done?

hi, im very new to all this, but i hopes someone would help me out.

im planning to upgraded to a newer window version (win XP Pro)..can it be done with just upgrading it or i have to do a clean install by reformatting the whole hard disk....

and does upgrading to win XP Pro means that my window Office will be newer version too? im currently usingOffice 2000 which is preinstall in my computer.

and can my cpu be faster by adding additional RAM....my system is as followed:

Microsoft Window ME

HP

GenuineIntel

Pentium(r) III processor

127.0MB RAM

Thank you very much

Joanna
