Hey,
I want to set up a home server. Using win2k server and win xp pro. I want to be able to set up both roaming and mandatory user profiles, controll internet access, and set up a email server so that email will follow the login account so that i can get email on what ever computer i log onto on my network. I also want to be able to share my printer and allows some users access to certain programs. And one more thing I want to have all users saved files to be stored on the server harddrive. I know that this is alot but this is something that I really want to do, and not have done for me. "If you feed a man fish he will be full for the day, but if you teach him to fish he can eat for a lifetime." So what i need is some type of detailed instructions on how to accomplish the project that i have set up. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! |

People pay thousands of dollars and spend weeks learning about this stuff - MCSE courses, etc. Best you buy a book which covers: AD (Active Directory), domain setup, security, etc.

Hope this helps,
I just finished setting up my home server, mail server and FTP server as well. The site I used with info on all of the above is http://www.dslwebserver.com/ This site is a step by step setup with a few options for variables such as Apache server or IIS. Let me know if this helped. Scott |
