Web Advertising
I've been fortunate to be approached to have banner ads placed on my website. Until now, I've not really given advertising much thought, and now I find myself with many questions about the best way to go about it. Here are a few...
- What's an average going rate for a 468x60 ad? How about one thats 120x90 (or so)? - Should I charge by Load, Click-through, or just a flat monthly fee? - Should advertisers pay up front? Or at the end? What's standard? - I plan to track Click-throughs and Loads, but are there other stats I should keep? - Is there anything else I should keep in mind? Thanks! -- August |

If there's one thing I've learned when starting out with advertising, it's to charge a montly fee (or flat-rate fee for a specified length of time).
You're better off going this way, and most of your clients will appreciate it, as it's less of a hassle for them (at least that was my experience).
