Studies Show Higher Quake Hazard Near Reno (AP)
AP - New research suggests the earthquake hazard in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area is higher than previously thought, scientists said. Areas just south of Reno, the Minden area and the Tahoe Basin have a good chance of experiencing a quake in the next 50 years, according to a map released at the annual Seismological Society of America meeting in Incline Village last week.
