Case-Extreme.com

well, ive finally found time to complete my project. Case Extreme.com. Its still in the developement stage, but ive thought i might as well get your opion seeing, that it would be easier to change stuff now, rather then later.

Check out the links below.

URL

URL

Info: Well the site is going to be a site on case modding (really?).

will have the following.
News (with comments, only members can add comments)
Articles
Reviews
Case Gallery (with comments, only members can add comments/case)
Polls
Forums (members only)
Newsletters
Search.
And NO ADVERTISING (yay!)

Just wanted to know what you guys think, esp if your into case modding. Maybe I've forgotten something? let me know your ideas/comments.

Oh the most important part ehe, its going to be skinable, for regd members. hence the two pics, there will be something like 8-10 skins when im done.

Good clean efficient design, nice way to mix in some graphics wiht your navigation elements, good color combination. Nice............

Now, I really like that coffee machine, maybe I need to build something like that to help me keep my *s* on this chair even longer.

PS: Did you pad your user count, or was it you and 258 of your freinds testing the site...

Lol, I was refering to the user on-line count you had on the site.....259 users currently on-line, 59 members and 200 guests...

As for changing anything, I would'nt. Its nice, clean and efficeint - more proffesional looking and not your typical kid creation thing with shout outs to my mamma, brother and boyz -> which is the distinct difference between professional and non-professional

Looks great Ben.....

Thanks,

one thing ive noticed on other case modding sites is the *crap* designs that they have, like it took them 5 min in paint to come up with it. So decided to make it look pro. The ability to change skins is also a plus. Ive noticed that some people, dont like sites with certain colors, it actually puts them off from going to a site. So by providing skinning, they can choose a professional looking design, which apeals to them.

That's a really cool idea, Ben. If you have time, make a variety, so no one will be left out. An even crazier idea is to let people design their own or submit theirs!

I had actually thought about that, but the issue of bandwidth came up. Because im paying for this out of my own pocket, i have to be careful. But it is an option down the future.

Nice design ben. You may consider changing the dotted dividers.. those are so overused. otherwise i think it looks great. nice color scheme. maybe a flashy menu (pun intended) instead of plain text links.

Ive got a kinda live version of it up and running.

URL

its still buggy (due to im developing on a windows apache server and moving it to my host sever, linux - causes some problems in the conversion)

anyway, have a look at tell me what you thing. just remember everything isnt working correctly because of some bugs caused by windows.

Oh and thx for your comments.

The dotted lines are just there for those two versions other skins may/may not have lines there at all.

oh, also with the flash menu, i was thinking about putting some sort of flash menu on the second color bar?? dont know what that is going to be yet

i was also thinking about it for the logo (the list goes on eheh)
somehow make the logo animated? but that can be a bit cheezy, and i dont want that.

I think the logo is fine without animation, but making it spin would look cool (even though that's pretty common and wouldn't add much to your site except load time). I think a little flash can make any old menu seem cool =) I did a pretty cool flash menu you can see at www.eqband.com , a site i'm working on now. I did all the programming and the layout, but someone else picked out borders/colors/etc, and i'm going to have to go back and make things look a bit better now. but the menu rocks =)

MGON = Media & Games Online Network (i think)

they run a bunch of gaming sites and all of them have the same basic layout. they all have a flash animation in the menu called MGON channel that shows recent events & stuff.

you can see some of their sites here:

www.counterstrikecenter.com
www.neocronmatch.com

I want to see the live version!! But I don't have ICQ and..

my mSN says you are not using MSN... ??????????

I looked at your design quite a while ago when I read your articles (at the bottom... about you thingy). I loved it! Simple, straight forward, and visually aesthetic!
