Case Extreme Design

Hey guys,

ive just made a simple design for my upcomming site, case-extreme.com and just wanted your thoughts on it before i actually decide to use it.

Its just about finished, just gotta decide where everything should go, i may change the colours, and also make a nice logo.

All coments (good and bad) are welcome. Plus if you think of something cool, please let me know.

Regards

Ben Rowe

Ben,

It looks good so far! Only thing I'm not crazy about is the dark-grey on the right side. Try lightening it somewhat, just to blend a little better with the green.

Other than that, the layout is nice, and the navigation is simple to find/use.

We need to get you a kick-ass logo!

Looks very good ben

Litle background on the dark right menu region would be nice tho: )

give more spacy feel by adding like a 0101100 numbers as background pic (nearly transparent) : ) just a suggstion..

I agree, the color for the right menu should be lighter. For the top graphic I would recommend taking various pictures of cases and making a layer blend with gradients and set it to luminosity.

Thanks for your ideas, i will make the right column abit lighter, and also do what you said James with the '0100001110101'

War Angel, your idea is good, but every other case modding site has pictures of cases in their logo, and while the idea is good, i dont want my site too look like the rest of em,

For the logo i was thinking about this type of logo. URL

well something like that anyway, but thats for your comments

Thumbs up cool!

Iknow its only the base but how about inserting some animated FLASH buttons
instead of those lame , boring simple buttons that everybody has on their website My friend and I have been working on a website for a while now (just for fun nothin serios ) we inserted a few animations and it looks Cool

JUST A SUGGESTION

the frames look great
and a search engine is cool to

So keep up the good work!

Psyco, i guess your not a professional? because theirs a little issue called bandwidth! if you start adding flash animations in, people with slow net connections, wont stay at your site for long! plus most hosts have a bandwidth limit, if you start using up heaps of bandwidth, you getting charged bucked loads.

btw, their is no frames in this design

How irritating is that?

Why do those select few think that FLASH is the only way to a quality site?

I find it frustrating... I live by the "Less is More" philosophy.

Besides, how many times have you clicked the "Skip Intro" when visiting a site? I know I have... Many time!

using Flsh for menus is VERY bad idea IMO

Intros are good only if they give ppl choice of viewing them..

Case moddin is just a way to enhance the your system case (tower)... It's similar to how people "supe-up" their cars (adding spoilers, exhaust, etc...). This is just the way us geeks do it! :P

OK--that was what I was thinking, but wasn't sure.

Sounds prett silly to me... I don't care what my machine looks like -- as long as it's fast and is expandable! The coolest case I've seen lately--not that it's practical or anything--is the see-through PC case.

I prefer rack mount machines now... so not much hope for me...

its a bit like a human, we basically have the same features, but we all have things that make us unique. A bit like my case, its unique. Ive done things that i think make it look cooler.

Im actually planing to make my case water cooled soon, should be really quite, and cool! im thinking of using an old bar fridge to cool it, that way i can always have a cold beer when i need it as well eheh.

Exclamation Reply to Ben

I am fully aware of the risks using FLASH
I know it slows you down

But Flash buttons look great
I know that a website should be easy to load but a little Flash won`t hurt.
you are right I`m not a profesional
But I`m trying to become one

Plese visit www.nrg.be ANd you`ll see what I`m talking about

Good work fakker! but doesn't that get annoying or distracting sometimes?

Do you have an on/off switch for the neon light?

sweet! I was thinking of spraying my case... but I dont want to run the risk of bodging it up!! -- which is very likely!!

The light doesnt get annoying, as it is on the other side of whereI work... ie: my comp is on the left of me.. so the light shines to the left..away from me.....
There is a on/off switch wired in.. but I have left it inside the case for now... I couldn't decide where to put it!!

I'll hopefully have my YMCA lego man ready and lit up by the time case-extreme is up and running!! I'll be ready with the camera!!

-- will you be selling anything through the site?
