Hey Retr0,
Looks great. You have some nice articles. The only thing that I would recommend is adding a couple of images to the articles, maybe screenshots of the scripts in action, etc... just an idea to give the pages some more spice.

great content, and simple design, gets straight to the point, but a few screen shots and a bit more could help, apart from that its great

Looks great! I agree with what both mytch and ben said.
Maybe you should make the index page look like the "news home" page too for consistency?

Feedback

Thanks for the feedback

Much appreciated.

I'm going to redesign and clean up my Web site, as I know that it needs more work and I am not really that happy with it.

I've been hacking a nice new PHP function LIB today for it with this in mind. If I can 'ever' get my own linux box running as it is down at the moment. I will also implement a set of project hosting features.

"Maybe you should make the index page look like the "news home" page too for consistency?"

Lindset I agree, in case your wondering why I did the home page like this. It's mainly because spiders tend to like [index page news feed] links. Which rank higher than secondary page links. You do have a good point though about page consistency. The way I've used coloured CSS menu links set against a dark background is also a bit dodgy.

Mytch "images to the articles, maybe screen shots of the scripts in action" I'm not a big fan of images as a rule. Some demos and a script download feature would be a good idea though.

I only came across devArticles the other week. I've seen it before but that was sometime ago. The little content that I've read on this site is first rate. Written by some interesting looking people who are clearly on the ball. I do hope that your CMS does well as it looks good.

hey, in the end, people come back to your web site because on the content, not because of the design.

if your providing high quality content, the design should only enhance the feel of the site

Cool Design

Ben

Point taken, a good design helps matters though. I think that it is important to try to design Web pages or for that matter software with future developments in mind. Accessability and useability are also important. You are right though the content is key as it is gets people there in the first place. The same could also be said of web based services i.e. e-mail or this fourm.

I will post again here when I have made my sites design changes.
