First All Flash Site!
I may or may not use this, what do you think? And I've heard all the args about using Flash so lets not go there. I just need opinion on the overall effect.
It's incomplete to say the least but, I just wanted to get an outsider view at the start so I don't work on it for another 6 mo's to chunk it. Site: Capital Web Studio |

I'm impressed at how quick the site loaded, but the one thing I'm not too crazy about is the colour scheme. The brown-ish colour of your right column, Key Points" doesn't seem to fit well.
Also, I would recommend decreasing the distance of the drop-shadow on your logo. It's makes it a little difficult to read. It's not that bad for me, but it may be for some people.

as a programmer/design of years of experience, i have seen one big no-no. (sorry for being so harsh on this), but unless you want to look pre 1998 style, loose the bg image. Apart from looking outdated, it makes it strain your eyes when looking at the rest of the site.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear it loaded quickly cause I'm adding another 30k to the front. Then I'll drop the shadow and experiment with different colors for the Key Points box. The bg wasn't my fav either. It's just thrown in for now to avoid plainess. I want a low keyed, barely noticable but tough dark bg. What I like about the bg now is the effect when you move the sizing of the browser window, the site seems to glide across the bg like on a table. As Beavous & Butthead would say, "That's cool. heahea heahea heahea."

i found the page slow loading... it seemed to stop at 19%, then again at 40%... the links (>>) don't seem to work, or are taking too long and i'm impatient... the electricity running up the buildings is neat though.

While the site does have potential (you haven't put any links etc in yet?) - I think the colour scheme has to change. The current colours do not compliment each other - they don't really gel at all.
Go with maybe dark/light blues and grey's. This will sort out your colour problem That background has gotta go! Looks like the menu background from the arcade version of digdug (circa 1990). I didn't have any probs loading (time-wise) - but I'm on cable. :P |

Ok. So how's the color now?CapitalWebStudio.com
Sorry to those of you that didn't see the previous. I don't believe anyone would actually leave up an archive of before and after changes. Changes are slow for now because of my PC. I have a virus thats eating my jpg's and mp3's. And I'm doing an upgrade in the next couple of weeks to replace my PII 300 Celeron with a P4 2.0Ghz monster. I can't wait. You just don't know how hard it is to design with a prehistoric dinosaur PC. Last edited by clintw@work : February 6th, 2003 at 10:40 AM. |
