Site evaluation www.mct-it.nl
Hello everybody. I'd very much like some feedback on my new site. It'll have to be about the layout and/or technique, however, because the site is at the moment only available in Dutch. I hope that's not a problem
![]() http://www.mct-it.nl Thanx in advance! Marco Teeuwen MCT-IT |

Sorry I don't speak Dutch, so it's a little hard for me to comment. But I would make a small suggestion. Make your logo on your upper left hand side clickable to return the user to your home page (on all pages except for the home page)

To touch again on the logo, it would look nicer if it were "sharper"... It looks as though it was saved at low-quality. I would save it with a higher quality, even though you may end up with a bigger filesize.
As for the design, I like the layout... I would, however, add some more colour to it. The grey and blue is nice, but I would consider adding another colour, for contrast. You may want to consider the width of the page. Because there isn't much content, it looks bare. Instead of using a width of 100%, try even 75% or 85%... It'll make the site look fuller. Hope that helps!

Actually, the logo was made by a friend, so I wouldn't even know how it was saved
But I'll ask him.I know, I'm not a great designer to say the least I just copied the design from one of my other sites: http://www.amonia.netThere is some more content there, so it's looks slightly better. Could you give an example for a contrast colour? I've wanted to use background images, but I never figured out how to use them without obscuring the overlaying text. As for the width, that's a good one, never thought of it. I'll experiment some with it. Thanx for all the great comments! BTW, I took a short look at your site, it looks great. I'll have to learn a lot before I'll be making something like that ![]() Last edited by McTrex : January 12th, 2003 at 02:56 PM. |

McTrex,
I'm sure he's got a copy somewhere... It's nothing major, but it will make it look a lot nicer, and more professional looking. As for a contrasting colour... I see you're using yellow for your mouse-overs on your links. You could go with that colour, or you can even try an orange; or you could simply make use of the darker shade of blue that's being used in your logo. Another suggestion would be to add a border around the page... Nothing too thick... and don't make it too dark. If you decide to use a border, you can even use a background image for the rest of the page, which will add form to your site... If you don't know what I mean, take a look at my site (www.frankmanno.com)... As for designing... It doesn't come over night... It takes practice, and lots of it... But you're headed in the right direction. The fact that you accept suggestions from others is a plus. A lot of people have a problem with that (I know I do sometimes! ).Hope it helps! |
