Writers Website using SiteWorksPro!!!
Please click http://www.willwrite4food.com/ to see the website that I configured for my sister. It is still a work in progress, but I should have the forums and new site colors, graphics, etc., complete in a couple weeks....
I woud like to offer a special thank you to Mitchell! His SiteWorksPro software fits hand-in-glove with willwriteforfood.com's growing needs! Like many other freelance writers, my sister wanted a website... However, after reviewing many other "writer" websites, most were flat, boring, and static. But now with SiteWorksPro, we are able to expand and offer our readers fresh, dynamic content daily. Furthermore, instead of being a single authoring site, we have opened new channels for many other aspiring writers around the world!!! Thanks again and appreciate your feedback. http://www.willwrite4food.com dmohorn@willwrite4food.com Last edited by DavidM : July 10th, 2002 at 04:34 PM. |

It didn't take too long to set up.
I initially got everything installed and functioning the way I wanted on my personal machine. After that, it was just a matter of loading up the content and getting the design the way I want it. Then it was simply a matter of backing up the database, programs, and transferring everything to the new hosting company. There is still plenty of work to be done, mind you. I'm in disparate need of having to design a new logo -- the one I have now was just a quickie that I did a couple Sunday's ago... I'm not an artist, mind you.... Anyone out there wanna take a stab at it? I was thinking of having something like a cardboard box or sign with the words "Will Write 4 Food" scriibbled on it... and perhaps a cartoonish type character holding it somehow.... If anyone is interested in some recognition, I'll be more than happy to assist. |

That doesn't look too bad -- just need something smaller with a cartoonish hands, body or something holding it... Perhaps more straight.
I'm impressed how quickly you found one, though! If you'd like, send them to me e-mail. dmohorn@willwrite4food.com |

I like the second one the best--the first one is too big I think...
Lindset, can you make it a bit smaller, possibley change the angle to the other way, and maybe put top of a head and eyes peeping over the cardboard and the nose hanging over... You know -- similar to the ASCII one that is been around forever.... |

Hey! I think I like that one --- of course my sisters on vacation this week, so I can't get her approval! But I'm going to try it in the meantime...
If you don't mind, two minor changes: 1) Make the face turn to the right instead of the left, so it will be looking inward instead of outward. 2) Make the Right eye about the same size as the left eye... Think it's a bit too big and distracting. 3) Set the white background as the transparency color. I did this already for my copy. Check out what we have so far.... ![]() http://www.willwrite4food.com/ I like it! |

OK--I got it! Looks good to me!
If you get a chance, try making the face's left eye not showing as much black (it's almost bolder than the right eye...) And if you could make the text on the sign a slightly darker black.... Thanks for everything -- I do like what you have..... |
