Section on MATLAB needed

Hello moderators, I am suggesting for a new subsection on MATLAB in the Programing section. As the forum provides insites to many languages along with latest in tech field, MATLAB section would be an added advantage to professionals and researches.

It will be great to have doubts and their solutions in MATLAB. I am sure many users would support this.

I think MATLAB is a rather one-off language, we don't see many posts here regarding it. The field of developers using MATLAB are fairly specific. I hope the admins here the suggestion and keep it in mind if we start seeing more MATLAB questions pop up, but in the meantime I'd suggest using the General Programming Help forum for any of your questions.

Another note, I'm not sure how many people are experienced enough to answer any difficult MATLAB specific questions. You may not receive an immediate response, but hopefully someone out there can address your issue.

Frankly, I think we'd be more likely to see a Delphi forum than a MATLAB one.

Don't let that stop you from posting your questions though!

MATLAB seems like more of a niche market. There aren't too many MATLAB programmers out in the world. I assume they're all in research labs at universities =)

Not to take you away from these forums, but you may get better results from a MATLAB specific community. Or you could convince them all to come here... then we'd definately make a section...

Then you prove our point-- not enough users around here to maintain a MATLAB section.

Are you talking in terms of price or coding experience?

I meant price, as in the compiler and the IDE thing cost a lot... do correct me if I'm wrong, I'm basing this on my dodgy memory of an ex-girlfriend two/three years ago.

Chances are finding a programmer experienced enough to assist a lab would be expensive to... might be a good field to follow =)

Yes, MATLAB by Mathworks is expensive if you talk about its professional version. For students it is $100.(current price).

Any way I will try to post some questions and possibly add good references to this language.Lets see if my project works!!!!

Matlab Section

I think there are already matlab specific forum like mathwoks file exchange and kluid (kluid.com) . To make your matlab section sucessful you need people who are really good in matlab, try visiting kluid (kluid.com) you will know what I mean. I think this forum is good anyway.

Thanks,
Irene
