Browsers

I've been IE since IE 4. I am currently using IE 6 with all of the various patches I havn't had a problem with it up until recently. Now I can't go to alot of web sites including some sites which I frequent often like www.rr.com which is the default home page for road runner users, battlestats.com, imperialconflict.com and many others. They either just close, or when I go to them they either do things like go to the homepage but when I go to another part of the site (ie. www.battlestats.com/games/ja, or entering my user info and then clicking login at imperialconflict.com) never loading and when I hit stop it creates a problem which requires sending an error report to microsoft or it loads (in the case of www.rr.com) and then creates a problem with kernel32.dll which of course close IE. I have been trying to fix this for several weeks now but it hasn't happened yet. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. so I have two questions.

1. Any idea on how i can fix this problem
2. I really like IE but I am looking into alternat browsers like Opera and mozilla but I havn't decided on which to try first. I do not like nutscrape, I mean nescape. SO any ideas on which browsers I should try

My OS is Windows 98

Plain Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird lack some advanced tab browsing features. I use Mozilla with the Multizilla plugin

Yeah, Firebird's pop-up blocked rocks.

If you still can't live without IE and want a good popup blocker install Googlbar which has built-in pop up blocking.

Have you guys tried the new Google Deskbar.

A very groovy little app that sits in your task bar. You can browse without opening a web browser. You can even highlight a word in a webpage, hit alt+ctrl+g, then enter and it'll load a new search in it's own little window. Very handy.

Check out it here: http://toolbar.google.com/deskbar/index.html

i use IE6.0 without any problems....

but I also got the Alexa toolbar (www.alexa.com) and that stops pop ups...

always fancied trying mozilla... but never get around to it!!

does anyone remember that browser which allowed you to change the skin? I remember getting it years ago and it took a life time to load!!!
