Canon G3 or Powershot S45?
So what do you say about this matter?
Do you have experience with either one or both? They both get great reviews and the price difference is not to talk about < US $100. Is bigger better or should compact be the name of the game? Cheers, Selleri |

Depends on what/where you are going to use the camera.
I love to take my camera with me everywhere, so i bought a tiny little sony cybershot u20 - fits in my hand. But, it's only 2MP, and i'm starting to crave big, crystal clear photo's - so i think my next digicam will be a big 5 or 6MP manual zoom, etc... |

stumpy's right... It all depends on what you're using it for. If it's leisure, you'll be happy with a 2+ MP camera... If you're going to be using it for professional quality imagery, you're better off with a 3+ MP camera... And 3 would be your choice if you're looking to save money.
I was in the market for cameras as well, and I decided upon the Fuji F601... It's a stunning camera, and it gets looks everywhere it goes... But that's not why I bought it, or so I try to believe! ![]()

Frankie, something tells me you bought it because you were in the store salivating over the options that it had.. But thats not entirely a bad thing.. I was thinking about buying a digital cam, but I don't really have the need for it at all.. besides, I want to get a game cube next.. ![]() My mom bought a professional quality one a few years ago... you can see the quality if you want on my page.. Click here They're old.. me in a tux, from prom, and my truck.. I miss that truck ![]() ![]() Not sure what kind of cam it is, I think it's a sony though.. but I know that it can interface directly with her printer.. |

Alright, you got me!
![]() Actually, the camera isn't bad at all! The pictures come out great... I just need to figure out how to use all of its features! I find that taking pictures without the flash come out blurred if I'm not super still... and I'm always shaking (hence the name ), so it's tough...My next buy will be a tripod... I find that the "Macro" feature of this camera is great! I took a couple test shots of one of my mother's plants... and the close-up looked incredible... As I said, I just wish I could make use of all its functions... |

our household has the Cannon G3...
i find the pictures it takes stunning!! superb quality... i haven't really devulged much in the features, but a few things that were fun to play with were: - the video-out cable(that's right, it hooks up to a television/vcr which then acts as the view-finder) - the zoom is great (high quality images close up) - ease of use (even my mom's got the hang of it... and she has a mild case of techno-phobia) keep in mind i have no experience with other digital cameras, i can still comment on the G3... and it's all good... personally i find it kind of heavy, but only because i assumed digital cameras would be lighter (similar to mp3 players when compared to tape players) |

Hey Selleri,
Did u decide on a camera? I myself have been looking around at getting another camera recently, and the G3 has come up as an option - Canon make excellent compact cameras - their image quality is amongst the best out there. The S45 looks pretty good too (the S50 is out now - 5MP) - essentially the same as the G3, but a few less manual functionality features. (And it's cheaper of course) Depends on how good a photogroher you are/want to be, and how much you control you want to have over taking an photo. I'm looking @ some higher-end 4 and 5MP camera, the Nikon Coolpix 5700 (8x Zoom!!) and the Minolta Dimage 7Hi are at the top of the list atm |

I've pretty much decited on the G3 so now I'm just waiting until someone I known ventures to the USA/UK/Canada as I'm not willing to buy it here at US $1368+
Guess that is the price you pay for living in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean ![]() |

I would suggest the Sony DSC P75 3.2 megapixel. I am really pleased with it. Fortunately, you can get it now cheaper than the time I bought it $300 or more... Good luck

I have one too. Yes, you can get Sony DSC P75 3.2 megapixel about $600 US not Sony DSC-72. I bought mine was almost $800 US including bag, lense adapter, filters, extra memory stick... My is still brand new, only use couple of times due to lack of time and too much homeworks.
Here is the most recently pic that I took. |

I don't hear any mention about the Fuji F601... Has anyone else had a chance to play or see one?
