CMS: cost effective portal system?
Hello
I have been just introduced to the concept of CMs as i was trying to build a web portal. I am looking an open source system in PHP that comes with speed and flexibility (when it comes to add new modules etc...). I have been introduced to Ez Publish amd Mambo Site Server, anybody who have experienced the us of those CMS or Portal engine, would you please share your experience... Thanks Exu. |

Hi Exu,
We actually sell our own CMS that we have used to run this site. It's only $139 and its called CONtent MANager v2.2. YOu can see it at www.contentconcepts.com. As for EZ publish, it doesn't look too bad. Looks like it's geared towards a more static type of web site such as a small business information site though. |

If you want a free one, PHPNuke is always an option, but I personally don't like it. You have to stick to a selection of templates.
I would go with mytch's CMS or try making your own .

ive used php-nuke before, and because of its lack of well documented admin it can be hard to figure out, i would suggest paying for a CMS, one like sitecube's siteworkspro. hint, hint, nudge, nudge, plus you will be suporting devarticles, and keeping the site going.
