Do you donate to open source projects?

So, I started this conversation in the shoutbox, then I realized, most people don't use the shoutbox. I know you need to reach a certain level to gain access to it, so I'll just create a thread to support the discussion....

Does anybody donate to open source projects (as in money and/or time)...
If so, which ones do you support? If not, which ones *would* you support?
Otherwise, why would you never support a projects efforts?

Itsacon already chimed in with an answer...

No, no open source projects. Don't use that many. I might consider OpenOffice once I start making more money, it's the only one I use.

I do regulary buy simple independent software though. It's often way more affordable than their big company counterparts, and often much more usable.

Not to mention the fact that if you miss a feature, you can often mail the creator, and have it added in the next version :-)

Some of the closed source 'low profile' projects I've bought:

Opera
Easy CD-DA Extractor
UltraMon
There are more, but can't remember right now :-P

I'm still planning on 'buying' Winamp, but I just don't need the 'Pro' features, so I haven't bothered yet...

Ya, I considered buying Winamp back when I had Windows... but the pro features just weren't worth it... I've used Winamp since the early beta days, so I'd love to support it. I think if it was a donation thing, I'd do it.

I've donated to Last.fm and Azureus... I'm also fond of simply buying applications... Piracy isn't as cool as it was back in high school =)
