Google "Brandy" update
Did anyone notice? This update didn't seem to have been as obvious as "Florida". Read all about it

*I noticed the difference!!*
Hey Stumpy,
Yeah, I noticed the difference - my mom called me and told me that her website had slipped off of Google. So I checked my site and I'd slipped from p.1 to p.2. I haven't had time to do a fix... so thanks for the link. I'll give it a read next time I have a moment. Looks like a paradigm shift. How does this affect Yahoo!? It's not as Google dependent as it was. - Robsta ![]()

Hey Robsta! It's been a while.
Yahoo! no longer uses Google - about 1 month they changed over to their own engine (powered by Overture). There's HEAPS written up about the google changes, which all look pretty good (nice and logical) if you're a normal web developer, and not google spammer ![]() |

Hi Stumpy,
I woz back in Blighty polishing up my accent and trying to look hard and jaded. I was happy with everything the way it was (page 1 ranking, no complaints). Hope my *Florida* good-standing is reinstated!! I'm not sure if I'm a normal web developer... I know I'm not a spammer. :P |

Heh - what I meant by "normal web developer" is that the new google changes are good for developers who follow the "normal" recommended techniques that allow you to be placed in google at a ranking you deserve. Procedures such as using relevant page titles, using H1 tags for the titles of your content, having good external and internal linking, etc... again, all this stuff is well documented all over the net, so 'ave a bit of a google guv!

Thanks for the validation... It's nice to know I can pass as *a normal web developer*. I'll do more reading on Google-friendly techniques (no spamming!! - I'm not smart enuff anyway) by doing a *Google* search on *Brandy*. Cheers mate! |
