I'm a 31 year old guy living in Ohio. I've been programming in C and C++ for over seven years now, but I started in earnest about three years ago when a friend asked me to modify his Talker for him. Since then I've learned a lot about sockets and programming in general.
My strong points are debugging (especially memory problems) and memory management. My weak point is developing my own code from scratch. I pretty much have linked lists and trees down to a science, and have gotten quite good at pointer-twiddling structures like that and how to manage their memory (in C). STL makes it a lot easier, though. They give you the containers and you fill them, no need to malloc realloc and free anymore (with lists, arrays, etc...) If you'd like to know more about me, I'd be more than happy to oblidge, just ask. Sincerely, Gordon Ellsworth |

Welcome Gordon,
I always hated pointers! Hehehe... But where would we be without them? ![]() Do you do any website development, or do you specialize more in application development? Do you code for a living, or is it a hobby? Enjoy your stay!

I do website development also, trying to learn PHP, it is much like C, but I can't seem to find a decent online function reference for it. I currently code as a hobby, but if I could do it for a living, I certainly would. I also have vast experience in computer networking, unix/linux administration, server maintenance and a bunch of other odds and ends. What do you do for hobbies? |

The best online reference is the PHP manual itself... Yeah... I think all devoted coders would love to develop for a living... and if you can make a living out of it, all the best to you! Well, myself, I run a small web development/design studio part-time... And my hobbies include teaching myself programming langauges (reading up on J2ME right now), spinning (aka DJing)... |
