Hello Everybody!

Just wanted to say hi and become a part of the group/community.

You know my name so let me tell you who I am. I am without doubt the most dedicated web programmer I know. And I don't have any programming friends. Well, I have one friend who kinda understands PHP, but for the most part cannot follow me when speaking of OOP and advanced stuff. Anyways, I program from the moment I wake to till I fall asleep, and then I dream about it.

My past experience with computers and programming started when I was about 8 with a Sinclair ZX81 using Basic. It hooked to my little B/W TV and stored data on cassette tapes. I even had the 16k memory pack add-on. Next major step was Basic on the Apple IIe at school where I helped to tutor other students, I was in the gifted program. Then I joined the Army, became a man, and partied away the next 10 years. But I do remember connecting to the Internet Bullitin Board with a Commodore 64. All text and IP's.

10+ years ago we got Windows 3.1 using a homemade 90Mhz computer. Connected to the net using a 33buad modem. That's when I was aware of the new graphical net. By the time we upgraded to Win95 I was programming HTML in notepad. Win98 introduced me to FrontPage98. I outgrew FrontPage when I got into Perl CGI programming and found a free wysiwyg, HTML Edit. So then I got into Javascript and DHTML. Then PHP popped up as an extension on a web page and I studied that day and night till I could amaze myself. I even got into programming C++. That's also when I got into databases with MySQL and XML. So I used PHP and MySQL for a few years until I wanted to move on to something more powerful and industry accepted. I studied Java, ASP, and Colfusion. I even got my A+ Certification because I thought about getting into hardware repair. Since then, I have stuck with ColdFusion as my primary language and replaced Java with Flash. So now I have been programming CF and Flash for about 5 years and PHP is still there. Of course ASP is a target language and I use it a lot also. There's so much more, but I'll save that for the interview. BTW, I'm using a custom built 2.4Ghz now.

I have an A+ Certification, Master HTML Certification, and ColdFusion Certification. My programming experience spans through HTML, Perl, JavaScript, PHP, XML, MySQL, ColdFusion, Flash ActionScript, ASP, Java, C++, and Visual Basic. My tools include DWMX, FlashMX2004, FWMX, PhotoShop, Swift, Maya, and a lot more..

My latest accomplishement is creating a two-way video/audio consultation app that uses a timer for a pay-per-minute membership site. I used MySQL, ColdFusion Components, Flash Remoting, and Flash Communication Server. Programming involves using netconnections, remoting on the Flashcom server side, and remote shared objects in conjuction with CF components and SQL intergration. It's the first of it's kind for the industry.

Welcome. Sounds like you'll be in a good position to help out around here.

Thanks dhouston.

I'll help out as much as possible. Of course, I don't have all the answers and I don't think anyone does. But, one person can share to the whole for each of us to be enriched by the masses. Without the Internet and people like you, I would still be flipping burgers. No offense to the chef.
