How do you Come to Know DevArticles?

Hi, I'm pretty new to this forum as you can see... only 20 posts.

BUT.. I have been feasting on all the articles here for quite a while now.

Just wondering ... how did everyone come to know about DevArticles? I believe all the SiteCubed staffs would like to know as well..

Start with me... I found this article through Google when I first started off with PHP about 6 months ago. I googled for "PHP tutorials" and DevArticles was in the list.

I gave DevArticles a go... and that's it.. I'm stuck...

Yours???

Well, i was actually contacted by Mitchell, who was looking at authors at the time. I started off writing articles and helping mitchell during my spare time. Now I work with mitchell full time with the other SiteCubed Staff, Maintaing our sites, developing software, etc.

I found a link from an article Mitch had written... Started coming every day, and then was offered to write the weekly newsletter, DevXPress. Everything blossomed from there, so to speak!

But I know what you mean about the articles being addictive... Anyone willing to join DAA (DevArticles Anonymous)... Let me know!

He has written a couple on PHP which appear on Sitepoint although in my case it was an ASP article "Create your own banner management application". I also read the "Diary of a Webmaster" articles and the Boost Your E-Zine Subscriptions with a Popup".

Just a quick note. The "spam" option in the poll above has nothing to do with us. We have never spammed anyone, and we do not intend to. We are one of the top 5 (in terms of both popularity and content) web developer sites on the Internet, and if we had spammed then we certainly wouldn't be as big as we are.

Yeah, I was curious to see why the "spam" option was chosen... I don't ever recall us sending out spam to anyone.

Whoever chose the option, if they would be so kind to let us know... This way we could look into it.

Thanks!

Hey guys... especially Mitch... cool down.. I know that you guys don't spam.

I was just adding it to have a bit of humour in our polls that all. Plus... like FrankieShakes said... maybe there were people who received some kind of email by accident or as prank from a friend.

But I definitely don't believe that anyone's going to vote on spam. And thats why I can comforably put it there, knowing that in the end, spam's vote will be the lowest. (also take into consideration of those who just vote for fun).

SPAM! the meat is lovely.... the emails are frikkin annoying...

Here's on I got earlier today...

"Dear Mr Facer,

Are you sick of your email box being filled up with junk email? Well this product is for you......... blah blah"

WHAT THE??

Surely this is spam itself? There should be a small island somewhere off the coast of hell where we can send all these spammers, then they can only bother each other. They would soon realise that it sucks to spam.

now... back to the topic in question.... I have no idea how I came to find DevArts..... I think I was searching for a solution to a problem and came across it.. fancy that?! eheh!!

Boy, am I glad I found it though! this forum has been my life line more than once..... got me out of some tricky holes in the past!

Keep up the good work guys, lemme know if you know any spammers and I will personally pay for the ticket to their designated island.........
