Internet Explorer 7
I'm not looking to start a flame war, however constructive comments are encouraged.
Has anyone installed IE7 beta? I wouldn't installing it on the test machine here at work, but I don't want it to overwrite the current install of IE. Is it possible to uninstall the beta? These are all issues I remember back when the IE4 beta was out, and the answer to all above questions was no.

Hey, those portable installations are useful.
You said there's a Firefox version as well? (ya, i'm too lazy to google...) Will it save Bookmarks? What about cookies? |

Nevermind, I found Portable Firefox on Sourceforge.
Firefox isn't one sexy EXE though... what a rip off. |

Told you... Opera is better...

Technically it's not an Opera supported application...
Firefox, however, CAN be run from a memory stick or network drive out-of-the-box. |

Yes and yes, though one keep in mind the thumbdrives have limited writes, so cookies and cache are probably not a good idea if one is going to use PortFF from one. One can, however, drop it into a folder on the computer and execute without needing any admin priveleges, and it responds fater than from Thumbdrive. Most themes and extensions work with it, too. |

This whole limited-write thing makes me want to avoid using my thumbdrive.
Obviously you can write tonnes of times... but for some reason knowing that it's limited makes it feel like every write is my last write. Wouldn't a flash-based MP3 player have the same issue then? |

Yup. Keep in mind that it took me better than a year to kill my flash and that's with a few mistakes in caching. |

Could you read from it after it blew?
Is it a known issue, or was your flash device just dodgy? |
